Marbella, as part of the Costa del Sol and Mlaga region, has more golf courses than in any other part of Spain. This area is known also as Costa del Golf. There are 45 golf courses in the area of Mlaga. In Marbella you have an excellent selection of golf clubs, all within 15 minutes distance. Important international golf tournaments have taken place in this area, like the World Golf Cup Philip Morris in 1989 in Las Brisas Golf Club, the Ryder Cup in 1997 and the Volvo Masters during 20 years 1988-2008 in Valderrama Golf Club in Sotogrande, as well as the Andalucia Golf Open in 2007 and 2008 at the Aloha Golf Club.

Nueva Andaluca: This course was designed by Javier Arana, one of Spain's best known golf designers. It was inaugurated in 1975 and is situated in the Golf Valley. Enjoys a varied vegetation, where no two holes are the same. Neither long nor short. The course is immaculately maintained. Serving good food at the club house restaurant.

The club currently has three courses, Flamingos Golf, Gran Flamingo Golf Club and the Flamingos Executive Golf Club, and in the future, the Flamingo Norte. Inaugurated in 2001 Flamingos Golf is located in one of the most beautiful enclaves of Marbella. From each of the 18 holes, players can enjoy breath-taking views of the Mediterranean Sea and Africa.

This club offers two courses: Guadalmina South is the oldest and was designed by Javier Arana in 1959, it is renowed for its difficulty, making it more suitable for experienced players. Guadalmina North is shorter and hillier than the south course and has more water hazards.

This club boasts two 18 hole courses. Los Lagos is a mainly flat course with wide fairways and 6 large lakes. Los Olivos is a narrow technical course, with small fast greens, which are a challenge for even the most demanding players.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones and inaugurated in 1977. One of the most interesting features of Los Naranjos is the significant difference between the front nine and the back nine. Located in the Golf Valley, with a nice club house serving good Scandinavian food.
